Bee Pollen Ontario – Should You Buy Bee Pollen From Canada?
Buying bee pollen for your health is a great idea. But, not buying the highest quality bee pollen can be hazardous to your health. Although Canada, is less populated than the USA, it is a developed country with heavy industry.
Ontario is Canada’s Manufacturing Province – Which Means Lots of Pollution
The particular bee pollen company from Ontario is located in Carlisle, Ontario. It is not very far from the industrial areas of Hamilton and Toronto. Hamilton is a known for its manufacturing sector. It is the most highly industrialized area in Canada. About 60% of steel is produced in Hamilton, because of large corporations Stelco and Dofasco, and Hamilton has been given a nickname of Steel Capital of Canada.

Air pollution is the number one cause of inferior bee pollen supplements, always look for bee pollen sourced from pollution free areas.
The large industry in the area, produces air pollution. This air pollution contaminates plants. As a result, any bee pollen that you might purchase from Ontario, could be tainted with large amounts of contaminants.
Firsthand Experience of Air Pollution
I’m from Toronto, Ontario, and I’m not even close to the Industrial areas, but every year during the summer months, going outside is probably the worst thing you could do for your health. Smog in Toronto is a large problem, due to the cars and winds blowing air pollution from the east (where Hamilton is located).
Why You Should Buy Bee Pollen From Another Country
Because we live in developed nations, we trade off certain things for certain conveniences. Having manufacturing in Ontario is great, because it produces jobs. However, the negative impact on the environment is long lasting. As a people, Canada is slowly trying to implement environment protocols to help with this . However, in the short-term, I don’t recommend buying bee pollen from Ontario.
Bee pollen is a natural product that is produced by bees. Bees gather pollen deep within plants and flowers, to reach the high dense and nutritious pollen. They gather “wet” pollen that is full of the enzymes, vitamins and minerals, needed for the plant to pollinate itself. Some of the vitamins that bee pollen has are : Vitamins C, D, E, K, F, PP, H, Folic Acid, Choline, Inositol, and Rutin.
Bees can travel up to 40 000 miles to gather their pollen, so it’s really important that you find a bee pollen source where there is no air pollution and industrial areas. In addition to that, you should also research countries where there is little or no use of pesticides and herbicides. Just like fruits and vegetables, having pesticides cover your food is not ideal for your health.
Bee pollen from New Zealand is place that is free from pollutants, no industrial areas, and the hives are located right next to a National Park. Specifically the company, Xtend-Life’s hives are located in Canterbury, New Zealand. After a quick Google Satellite map search, I found that this area was completely untouched by humans. This means that any bee pollen collected here would be of the most natural and purest quality.

Fun Fact: New Zealand was the last landmass on earth to be populated by humans
But before you jump in and buy anything from New Zealand, You need to read my page on New Zealand, which goes into detail about the country and its bee pollen.
